All CCD Classes, Grades K-HS, meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 - 8:00 p.m.

Mission

To teach the Catholic Faith to every child who is entrusted to our care and to lead them into a personal relationship with Christ.

Registration

Registration forms and information for the 2011-2012 school year can be obtained at the church rectory, by contacting the Office of Religious Education, or by downloading the forms below. Regular Registration fees are $130 for a family with 1 child in the program, $140 for 2 children, and $150 for 3 or more children. Minimum $50 due with Registration.

Class Schedule

Classes are held in the St. Thomas More School on Wednesday nights from 6:45 to 8:15pm. Students are to meet in the STM school cafeteria before class begins.

Penance and First Communion

Students who complete the Level 1 class will receive the sacraments of Penance and First Communion during the Spring of their Level 2 classes. The sacramental preparation for these sacraments takes place during their regular classes. Any student in the 3rd grade or above who has not received the sacraments of Penance or First Communion will begin the two year preparation process for the Sacraments upon their registration.

• The first year, students will be enrolled in Sacramental Preparation for Older Children Level One (SPOC1) which will cover basics of the Catholic Faith.
• After the successful completion of Sacramental Preparation for Older Children Level (SPOC1), the students will need to be registered the following school year, 2012-2013, for part two of the class, Sacramental Preparation for Older Children Level 2 (SPOC2). This class will continue to teach basics of the Faith and prepare the students for First Penance and First Holy Communion. The students will prepare to receive the Sacraments of First Penance and First Holy Communion in the spring of their Second year of Preparation.

Confirmation

Preparation for Confirmation begins in the Fall of the students 7th Grade year, for students who have been enrolled yearly.

• Students are to be enrolled in Grade 7 to begin to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
• The following school year, students are to be enrolled for Grade 8, and will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the fall of that year, if all Sacramental Preparation requirements are completed.
• If your child is older and has not received the Sacrament of Confirmation please contact the Religious Education Office.

Catechists and Volunteers

We rely on volunteers to be our catechists, teacher’s assistant, hall monitors, greeters, etc. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Office of Religious Education to find out where we have a need.
