Bishop Burbidge Announces Fr. Robert Rippy as Full-Time Judicial Vicar

Bishop Michael Burbidge announced on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, that Fr. Robert J. Rippy will be the full-time Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Arlington and  will be leaving the Cathedral of St. Thomas More effective June 27, 2019.   He will reside and also will be the Director of the Saint Rose of Lima Priest Retirement Villa in Annandale.

Fr. Rippy said, “The Lord chose to bless me with the Cathedral of St. Thomas More parish community for over 14 years. During my tenure at the Cathedral, I celebrated with you the 75th anniversary of the parish, the renovation of the Cathedral, our annual Oktoberfest, sacraments, funerals, farewells, and all the Sunday and week day liturgies. I look back with profound thankfulness on our time together in ministry and service. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness, love and support over the years.   May the Lord bless you abundantly and please be assured of my continual prayers.”

Father Patrick Posey will be the new rector of the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More effective June 27th.  Fr. Posey is the pastor of St. James Church in Falls Church.  In addition to his responsibilities as rector, Father Posey will continue to serve as the Diocesan Director for the Pontifical Missions.
