Advent Morning of Reflection – December 18, 2021
November 17, 2021
The month of December is a busy one in our families, our workplaces, and the world around us. If nothing else, the pandemic times have taught us that there is more to life than busyness. During these past eighteen months, we have experienced waiting in many ways and the church reminds us that Advent, too, is a time of waiting. BUT what are we really waiting for? Perhaps, it’s not for what we’ve thought all along.
The Cathedral of St. Thomas More invites you to join Fr. Carroll Oubre on Saturday, December 18 from 9:00- 12:00 pm as he leads us on Advent Morning of Reflection. The day will begin with 9:00 am Mass, an opportunity to gather with parishioners followed by two reflections.
Father Carroll Oubre was born in Houston, Texas. His father retired from Shell Oil and is now a professor at Rice University in Houston. His mother is a retired registered nurse. He has one sister who attended Christendom College and now lives in Gainesville with her husband and five children. Father Carroll received his bachelor’s degree in theology at Christendom College in Front Royal and continued his studies at St. Mary’s College after being accepted into the diocese. He has earned a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Arts in Moral Theology. Father Carroll has been a priest for the diocese for the past 22 years and has served at parishes in Great Falls, Alexandria, Chantilly and Arlington
