November 15 Day of Service Food Drive
October 22, 2025
Ready, Set, Drive and Donate!
Christ directed his followers to “feed the hungry.” Food insecurity is a real threat to the dignity and health of those less fortunate, affecting individuals and families alike. As an important arm of Catholic Charities, whose mission is to “strengthen[s] individuals, families, and communities based on Catholic principles,” the St. Lucy Food Project seeks to alleviate this through food pantries located throughout the diocese, in addition to their mobile response center.
As part of the diocesan Week of Service, the Cathedral is hosting a Drive Through Food Drive on Saturday, November 15, to benefit the St. Lucy Food Project. In conjunction with the Knights of Columbus, we are handing out the familiar St. Lucy Blue Bags at all Masses the weekend of November 8-9. We are seeking donations of non-perishable items for the food insecure in our communities.
We will have volunteers on hand Saturday, November 15 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. to receive your donations. If you cannot make it during that time, please drop off your bag after Mass that weekend.
“Together, we are building a faith-filled culture of generosity and solidarity—not only within our parish communities but throughout this diocesan region we call home. Join us in being the hands and heart of Christ to others. Let’s serve with purpose, pray with hope, and grow together in the love of God.”
