Inclement Weather Policy

In case of inclement weather, STM Rectory Office follows the U.S. Federal Government for closures, delayed openings and early closures. Please check opm.gov for current guidelines and listen to local radio. We will post announcements as quickly as possible on our websites, social media, and if necessary, via parish email. Saint Thomas More Cathedral School follows Arlington County’s procedures for emergency closings. Announcements are made on television and radio. You may call the Arlington County Public School hotline at 1-866-322-4277. If Arlington County has a delayed opening, Saint Thomas More Cathedral School will have a delayed opening and if a delayed opening occurs on an early dismissal day, school will dismiss at 3:15 P.M. When school opens late, Extended Day will also open late.

When STM Church and School are closed, all activities on campus are canceled for the entire day, except for the celebration of Mass.  All are advised to use caution when making the decision about attending Mass and keep in mind your personal safety and the safety of others.

If STM Church and School are closed early due to inclement weather decisions, all activities on campus, including sports and after school clubs, are cancelled for that afternoon and evening.
